Activ8 Community activates the strengths, skills, and wisdom that refugees, new migrants, and CALD community members bring to Australia — walking alongside them, not around them, to build connection, opportunity, and belonging across South West Sydney.

We envision a South West Sydney where every refugee, migrant, and CALD community member is known for the strength they carry — not the barriers they face — and has the connection, opportunity, and belonging to thrive.

Our Values

People are needed, not needy. We start with what’s strong, not what’s wrong. Every person who walks through our door arrives with skills, wisdom, and lived experience worth activating — not a problem to be fixed.

We walk alongside, not around. Support isn’t something we do to people. It’s built with them — through Asset-Based Community Development and Appreciative Inquiry, community members shape the programs that serve them.

Belonging is the antidote to isolation. Loneliness and disconnection are silent epidemics in CALD communities. Every program we run exists to turn isolation into connection, and connection into community.

Dignity in every interaction. Whatever someone’s circumstances, they’re met with respect — not paperwork, not a case number, not a label.

We speak up, not just show up. Direct support matters, but so does advocacy — for equitable access to services and a fairer go for the communities we work with.
